Robson Ledesma

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, now based in Brussels. Performer, dancer, collaborator.

 

At the age of 9, Robson began his dance journey at the Conservatory of Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, where he attended ballet classes and trained different techniques of modern, contemporary and Brazilian folk dances. During the last 4 years at the institution, he was a member of the school’s junior company – Corpo de Baile Jovem Municipal – where he danced in the works of 9 Brazilian choreographers.

In the season following his graduation – 2011 – Robson was then accepted as an intern at the professional company. That same year, he was invited by the choreographer and director Luiz Fernando Bongiovanni to join his work. Robson then started working as a freelancer, collaborated and performed with Luiz in 3 different productions as well as in the works of Ismael Ivo and Allan Falieri.

In 2016 Robson moved to Brussels, Belgium to continue his artistic development and was accepted as a student at P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios). There he studied and participated in creations with many great and inspiring professionals, such as Salva Sanchis, Martin Nachbar, Samuel Wentz, David Hernandez, Diane Madden, Fabrice Mazliah, Kuno Bakker, Cristian Duarte. Throughout the 3 years of the program he was mentored by Lise Vachon, Sandy Williams and Manon Santkin.

In his last year at P.A.R.T.S., Robson began working professionally in Europe with choreographers such as Michiel Vandevelde, Michèle Anne De Mey, Marc Vanrunxt, Bruno Freire, Alan Lucien Øyen amongst others.
